Online and In-person Public Involvement: Intersection Improvements on AL-127

Project Overview

Location: Athens (Limestone County)

ALDOT is proposing to improve traffic flow at the intersection of AL-127 and AL-99 in the City of Athens, Limestone County. The proposed project will add a right-turn lane on AL-127, widen existing turning radii, and replace the existing traffic signal. Additionally, sidewalks will be added to the west site of AL-127. Lane closures will be utilized during construction, so no detour will be needed. Additional right-of-way will be needed to implement the project.

The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. ALDOT is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.

All comments regarding this project must be submitted on or before Friday, December 12, 2025.
