Online and In-person Public Involvement: Access Management along US-231

Project Overview

Location: Wetumpka (Elmore County)

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is proposing to improve traffic flow and address safety concerns along AL-9 (US-231) in the City of Wetumpka, Elmore County. The proposed project will modify access and reduce conflict points along US-231 from Charles Avenue to South Main Street. Modifications include the addition of concrete islands and U-turn lanes in order to reduce unsafe turning movements along the corridor. Temporary lane closures will be necessary during construction.

The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. ALDOT is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.
