Online and In-person Public Involvement: Road Diet on AL-46

Project Overview

Location: Ranburne (Cleburne County)

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is proposing to improve traffic flow and decrease congestion along AL-46 near Ranburne, Alabama. The project will involve safety countermeasures consisting of resurfacing, traffic striping, guardrail, and guardrail end anchors along AL-46 from County Road-620(MP 10.978) to AL/GA State Line (MP 21.296). The project will additionally include a road diet; the existing facility will be reconfigured from four (4) travel lanes to two (2) travel lanes and a two-way center left turn lane, as designated. Traffic will remain open during construction. At this time, right of way is not required.

The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. ALDOT is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.

All comments regarding this project must be submitted on or before Friday, August 15, 2025.
