Project Overview
Location: Roanoke (Randolph County)
The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is proposing to replace the existing bridges on AL-22 over Boatner Creek amd a tributary near Roanoke, Randolph County, Alabama. The existing bridges were built in the mid 1930s and do not meet modern design standards due to their narrow width. The bridges will be replaced with bridge culverts that will accommodate two 12' lanes with 8' shoulders. The replacement bridge culverts will be constructed on new alignment south of the existing bridges, allowing the roadway to remain open during construction. Additional right-of-way will be required to implement the project.
The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.
