Online Public Involvement: Bridge Replacement on AL-21 Online Public Involvement: Bridge Replacement on AL-21

Project Overview

Location: Rockford (Coosa County)

The proposed project is located on AL-21 (US-231) north of the town of Rockford in Coosa County. The project will replace the bridge on AL-21 over Hatchet Creek with a modern structure that meets current design standards. The bridge will be replaced on new alignment west of the existing bridge. Additional right-of-way will be needed to implement the project. No detour will be needed as the existing bridge will remain open during construction.

The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. ALDOT is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.

Commercial developments, including shopping centers and large retail buildings, appear near the left side of the image, while wooded areas surround much of the remaining image. An interchange is present near US- 98 on the left side. Project markings, lane depictions, and right of way limits are drawn on top of the aerial imagery.
